The churches of Luogosanto
Through “The churches of Luogosanto” excursion we will accompany you to visit the sanctuaries that arise in the municipality of Luogosanto and the Beata Vergine Maria Museum. The name of Luogosanto most likely derives from San Nicola and San Trano, two hermits who became Saints who lived here in the 16th century. When the Franciscans arrived in these places in the 13th century, they discovered the history of Saints Nicola and Trano and built two chapels in their honour, one of which, today, can be visited. Country churches have a very simple structure: they usually consist of a single room covered in trusses with granite walls and are very graceful due to their essen al shape and measured size.
During the “The churches of Luogosanto” excursion there will be a stop at a refreshment point and an overnight stay at the rural hotel of Luogosanto, which will serve dinner and breakfast.
